Information we use

When you browse or order, we may collect your name, contact and delivery details, account information, order and payment transaction details, correspondence, product and fitment enquiries, device and browser information, IP address, and how you use the site. Payment card details are handled by our payment providers; we receive transaction information needed to process the order. If you contact us through chat or sign up for marketing, we process the information you provide and your preferences.

Why we use it

  • To process payment, fulfil and deliver orders, provide customer support and handle returns, relying on performance of our contract with you.
  • To keep accounting records, meet tax and other legal duties, and respond to lawful requests, relying on legal obligations.
  • To prevent fraud, secure the site, improve our services and understand business performance, relying on legitimate interests where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • To send marketing by email where you have consented or where the law permits us to contact existing customers about similar products with an opportunity to opt out. You can unsubscribe using the link in an email or contact us.
  • To measure and personalise advertising, including through Meta and any enabled analytics services, where the required consent has been obtained for non-essential cookies and similar technologies. See our Cookie policy.

Who receives information

We share information where needed with Shopify, payment processors, fulfilment and delivery partners, customer service tools, fraud prevention providers and professional advisers. Where enabled and permitted by your choices, advertising and analytics partners such as Meta may receive event and device information to measure campaigns and show relevant ads. We may disclose information to authorities where required by law. These organisations may act as processors or independent controllers depending on the service. We do not sell customer lists.

International transfers and security

Some service providers process data outside the UK. Where required, we use an applicable UK adequacy arrangement or appropriate safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or UK Addendum, and you may ask us for more information. We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect information, including access controls and secure payment processing.

How long we keep it

We keep order and accounting records for as long as needed for tax and legal obligations, normally at least six years after the relevant financial year. Other enquiries, accounts and marketing preferences are kept while needed for the stated purposes and reviewed or removed when no longer necessary. We may keep a record of an opt-out to honour it. Exact periods can vary with legal claims or other obligations.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction or deletion of your information, restrict or object to processing, request portability, and withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing. Contact sales@hogparts.co.uk. We may need to verify your identity and may have to retain records required by law. You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies and changes

Our Cookie policy explains essential, analytics and advertising technologies and how to manage choices. We may update this notice as our services change; the date above shows the latest version.
